CREATIVE HEALTH NETWORK
The local Creative Health Practitioners Network welcomes artists and creative practitioners who support the health and wellbeing of residents across the borough.
Established in 2026, the network is led by a community of arts organisations and individual practitioners from Wigan Borough’s Voluntary Community Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector. Supporting local health and wellbeing through creative activity, the network contributes to the wider Creative Health strategy in Wigan by strengthening the voice of practitioners as a skilled, trusted workforce who can inform prevention, social prescribing and neighbourhood-based health work. It also acts as a peer support group for its members with administration and resource provided by Wigan Borough Community First.
The Network has ambitions to:
Define and agree standards for what constitutes high-quality creative interventions.
Share and promote best practice around safeguarding.
Contribute examples of good practice to the next Public Health Annual Report.
Support the borough’s Cultural Strategy with a focus on the Hope Health and Happiness strand of activity.
